||On March 29th, 2015, a Suzuki motorcycle was traveling southbound in the left lane on Greenhouse Rd. approaching the intersection with Cypress Bay Dr. A Chevrolet Avalanche was eastbound on Cypress Bay Dr. at the intersection with Greenhouse Rd. The driver of the Chevrolet advised he did not see any traffic when he accelerated away from the stop sign and crossed the southbound lanes of Greenhouse Rd. Roadway evidence indicated the Suzuki motorcycle skidded and slid on its left side prior to striking the left rear quarter of the Chevrolet on the right side. The force of the impact resulted in a counter clockwise rotation of the Chevrolet. The motorcycle continued to travel south without the driver after the impact and struck the curb of the center median. The motorcycle then flipped over onto its right side and came to an uncontrolled final resting position in the left lane on the southbound side of Greenhouse Rd. The rear wheel of the motorcycle broke off and came to rest off the roadway on the west side of Greenhouse Rd. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to the hospital, but he did not survive his injuries. A witness that knows the motorcyclist and was traveling with him advised the Chevrolet rolled through the stop sign on Cypress Bay Dr. and pulled out in front of the Suzuki motorcycle. No signs of impairment was observed on the driver of the Chevrolet and speed is a possible factor in this case. This case is still under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Division.
