A man leaving a northwest Harris County bar was shot to death by two unknown gunmen early this morning marking the second homicide to occur at the location this year, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
On Sunday, March 1, at approximately 2:20 a.m., Harris County Sherriff’s Office deputies responded to a fatal shooting at a bar in the 2300 block of West FM 1960 in northwest Harris County.
“Upon arriving, deputies located in the roadway a black male seated in his vehicle deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. Deputies spoke with several witnesses who stated the victim had just left the Kicks Sports Shack and was driving through the parking lot when two unidentified males wearing dark clothing approached his vehicle and begin firing into the vehicle,” Sergeant G. Pinkins reported. “The victim crashed into the median on 1960 and the two suspects fled in a dark colored vehicle Pontiac GT.”
The shooting is at least the second homicide to occur outside the Kicks Sports Shack this year. On Jan. 18, an altercation inside the night club resulted in the shooting death of a man.
The investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with information are asked to call Houston Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477) or the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Division at 713-967-5810.
