||On Saturday, February 28, 2015, at approximately 12:00 noon the Complainant was operating a gray 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche and was traveling on the outside northeast bound lane in the 13400 block of Business U.S. Hwy 90, commonly known as Beaumont Highway. The Defendant was operating a gray 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up and was traveling on the inside northeast bound lane slightly behind the Complainant. The Complainant changed lane when unsafe and struck the Silverado at right front quarter with left back quarter. The impact caused the Avalanche to rotate counter-clockwise, cross left of center and the southwest bound lanes. The Avalanche struck the guardrail, located on the north side of the road with front right which caused the Avalanche to spin counter-clockwise in the air and come to its final rest position on its right side. The Complainant was partially ejected and was found with no signs of life at the scene. Two (2) occupants in the Avalanche were ejected and a female crawled out of the Avalanche. The Defendant stopped his vehicle at which time the three (3) occupants from the Avalanche entered the Defendant’s vehicle and fled the scene without rendering aid to the Complainant. The Silverado was later located and the Defendant was subsequently arrested. This case remains under investigation by the Traffic Enforcement Division of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
