County investigator fatally shoots man during gun battle in westside restaurant

An investigator with the Harris County Attorney’s Office shot and killed a man during a gun battle last night inside a west Houston restaurant, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
According to preliminary reports, a disturbance occurred inside the place of the business between two individuals.
HCAO Investigator Anthony Yet shot and killed a man who was firing into a restaurant. No one else was injured.
“While Investigator Yet was having dinner with friends, two men came in and began arguing,” Robert Soard, First Assistant County Attorney, reported. “Yet was asked by the restaurant owner to calm the men down. Yet escorted the two men out of the restaurant.”
When Yet returned inside the restaurant, one of the men outside walked to his car, grabbed a pistol, and began firing several shots through the busy restaurant’s glass front door, HCSO reported.
“About 20 people were inside the restaurant. As the man came through the door of the restaurant, Yet shot him,” Soard reported. “The man was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Yet has been an investigator with the County Attorney’s Office since 2013 and has been a certified peace office since 1992.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office are reviewing the incident as an officer-involved shooting.
