Suspect kills friend over argument at 6601 Dunlap, flees scene

The Houston Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 6601 Dunlap No. 3010 about 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
The victim, Ruben Virgilio Cano-Rodriguez, 30, of the above address, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
“Mr. Cano-Rodriguez and a friend were sitting and drinking in the living room at the above address,” HPD Homicide Division Sergeant H. Chavez and Officer R. Lujan reported. “A family member in another room reported hearing a disagreement between Cano-Rodriguez and his friend and then a gunshot. When the family member went to see what happened, he saw Cano-Rodriguez’s friend fleeing the residence and Cano-Rodriguez suffering from a gunshot wound. Investigators are currently looking for the friend to question him in the incident.”
