Man dies after wrecking into 18-wheeler at Walmart on FM 529

A man died in the hospital today from injuries he sustained during an accident last week in a Walmart parking lot in northwest Harris County, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim, Frederick McMahon, was pronounced dead at 8:56 a.m. at North Cypress Medical Center. McMahon was hospitalized Dec. 11 after he crashed his sedan into an 18-wheeler parked at the loading dock of Walmart at 15955 FM 529, HCSO reported.
“McMahon was operating a 2001 Saturn four-door sedan traveling westbound through the parking lot of Walmart located 15955 FM 529,” Deputy M. Nguyen reported. “McMahon suddenly accelerated and struck a parked 18-wheeler which was was unloading. The collision imparted a counter clockwise rotation on the Saturn as it continued in a westerly direction. The Saturn then struck a parked Ford Escape prior to coming to an uncontrolled final rest. McMahon was transported by ambulance to North Cypress Medical Center. Preliminary testing at the hospital indicated McMahon had a heart attack which may have lead to the crash. Witnesses at the scene also advised it appeared McMahon had a medical condition prior to crashing.”
