WANTED: Double murder suspect, considered armed and dangerous

  • Homicide detectives with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s help in finding a man wanted for the murder of his brother-in-law and nephew late Saturday night in northwest Houston, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

    The suspect, Danny Lee Neelys, 39, of Cypress, allegedly used a pistol to force his way inside his relatives’ residence in the 12600 block of Atwood Grove Lane shorty before midnight, HCSO reported. Neelys then shot and killed his brother-in-law Keidric Jamal Jelks Sr., 42, and his son Keidric Jamal Jelks Jr., 15.

    “On Saturday, Nov. 15, at approximately 11:30 p.m., HCSO deputies responded to a double homicide at 12651 Atwood Grove Ln. in the Northwest Park Colony Subdivision,” HCSO Sgt. B. Beall reported. “The suspect, identified as one of the victim’s brother-in-law, Danny Lee Neelys, forced his way into the residence at gunpoint. Neelys shot and killed Keidric Jamal Jelks Sr., 42,and Keidric Jamal Jelks Jr.,15.”

    Beall reported that Neelys left the scene on foot, but is believed to be driving a 2001 black Ford Expedition (license plate number AV2-6340).

    Neelys is described as 39-year-old black male, standing 5-foot-10, and weighing about 200 pounds.

    HCSO considers him armed and dangerous.
