A teenager was found shot to death in a northwest Harris County playground early this morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim, 17-year-old Taj Kareem Smith, was discovered by a passerby in the Heritage Village Community Park at 2602 Whitinham Drive just before 7 a.m., HCSO reported.
“A person walking at the park observed a body lying motionless near the children’s playground,” Sgt. F. Rivera reported. “Units arrived on scene and discovered the body of a young black male who had what appeared to be multiple gunshots wound to the abdomen. Medical personnel were summoned to the location and pronounced the male dead.”
