||On October 13, 2014, at approximately 6:20 a.m. the victim, Steven Self, was operating a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on FM 2100. The complainant began having seizures and depressed the accelerator rapidly increasing the speed. The complainant was wearing a prosthetic right leg. The front passenger in the Chevrolet Silverado attempted to take control of the vehicle and release the driver’s leg from the accelerator. The Chevrolet Silverado failed to drive in a single lane and swerved across the southbound lane of FM 2100 occupied by a Mazda CX-7. The Mazda struck the Chevrolet in the right back quarter with its front right. The Chevrolet Silverado then entered a deep drainage ditch striking the embankment with the front left of the vehicle. The Chevrolet rotated counter clockwise through the ditch coming to a final rest. The complainant and passenger in the Chevrolet were not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision and were both ejected from the vehicle. The complainant was found with no signs of life at the scene. The passenger was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Mazda was not injured. This case remains under investigation.
