A cross-county car chase ended with one suspect dead in southeast Houston this morning, according to the Houston Police Department.
The incident began around 9:30 a.m. after an assault victim flagged down a Liverpool police officer, police reported. The victim was able to point out the suspect’s truck to the officer. When the officer tried to pull the suspect over, the man fled.
The chase passed through Pearland into Houston on Beltway 8, according to HPD. The suspect then took the Beamer Road exit in southeast Houston and drove to a house in the 11700 block of Kirkmeadow Drive and pulled in the driveway.
The suspect got out of his truck and opened fire on the officers with a shotgun, HPD reported. The man also shot at police with a handgun before being fatally shot.
