Houston police are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating two persons of interest wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of a man at 10950 Bissonnet #B-125 about 12:30 p.m. on March 27.
The victim, Rueben Portillo, 53, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on March 28.
Surveillance photos of the two suspects, described only as Hispanic males, are attached to this news release.
Two suspects in the case were arrested and charged in April. Luis M. Rivas (H/m, 21) and Maria Veronica Valle (H/f, 48) are charged with capital murder.
“The suspects, described only as three Hispanic males and two Hispanic females, entered the Lucky Star Game Room and began playing the electronic slot machines,” HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Versluis and Officer J. Horn reported. “Without warning, one of the males attacked Mr. Portillo, a security guard. As the two struggled over Mr. Portillo’s weapon, a second male suspect joined in the attack. During the struggle, Mr. Portillo was shot. The male suspects then robbed the persons inside the game room before all five suspects fled in a silver, two-door Honda Accord and a red Nissan Sentra with tinted windows and a rear spoiler.”
The males in the surveillance photos have not been identified or charged at this time. However, investigators would like to speak to them regarding involvement in this incident.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts or identities of the individuals in the surveillance photos is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
