A woman wanted for fatally stabbing her ex-boyfriend in front of his family in the parking lot of a South Post Oak convenience store last week has been arrested, according to the Houston Police Department.
Phillips allegedly stabbed 25-year-old Brandon D. Andrews multiple times with a knife Saturday evening in the parking lot of a gas station located at 14120 South Post Oak Road. The victim’s 5-year-old daughter and his father witnessed the incident, court records show.
“Andrews, his father and his daughter went to a convenience store at the above address to make a purchase,” HPD Homicide Sergeant K. Tolls and Officer T. Tyler reported. “When Andrews’ father went inside to make the purchase, Andrews was confronted by his girlfriend, Phillips, and they began to argue. According to witnesses, the argument escalated, and, at some point, Phillips produced a knife and stabbed Andrews in the chest multiple times.”
Andrews then got into his car, along with his father and daughter, and attempted to drive himself to the hospital, HPD reported. Andrews drove a few yards and then collapsed behind the wheel, crashing the car.
Neither Andrews’ daughter nor his father were injured in the accident.
Phillips fled the scene as a passenger in a gold, older-model Buick sedan, according to police.
She is charged with murder in the 339th State District Court and being held at Harris County Jail on $50,000 bond.
