5th UPDATE: Third Suspect Arrested, Two Sought in Fatal Game Room Shooting

620726 620730 620722Houston police have arrested a third suspect in the fatal shooting of a man at 10950 Bissonnet #B-125 about 12:30 p.m. on March 27 and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two other wanted suspects.
The third suspect taken into custody, Marlon Alexis Galo Soriano (H/m, 30), is charged with capital murder in the 180th State District Court. Two others, Luis M. Rivas (H/m, 21) and Maria Veronica Valle (H/f, 48), were arrested in April and are also charged with capital murder. Photos of suspects Soriano, Rivas and Valle are attached to this news release.
At this time, two additional suspects remain at-large. Surveillance photos of them are also attached to this news release.
The victim, Rueben Portillo, 53, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on March 28.
“The suspects, initially described only as three Hispanic males and two Hispanic females, entered the Lucky Star Game Room and began playing the electronic slot machines,” HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Versluis and Officer J. Horn reported. “Without warning, one of the males attacked Mr. Portillo, a security guard. As the two struggled over Mr. Portillo’s weapon, a second male suspect joined in the attack. During the struggle, Mr. Portillo was shot. The male suspects then robbed the persons inside the game room before all five suspects fled in a silver, two-door Honda Accord and a red Nissan Sentra with tinted windows and a rear spoiler.”
The males in the surveillance photos have not been identified or charged at this time. However, investigators would like to speak to them regarding involvement in this incident.
