Suspect Wanted in Kidnapping/Auto Theft Incident at 8601 West Bellfort

Houston police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a male suspect wanted in an auto theft and kidnapping of four children at 8601 West Bellfort about 6:15 p.m. today (August 27).

Officers responded to a stolen vehicle call at the Jack in the Box restaurant at the above address and discovered the vehicle taken was used as a daycare transportation vehicle for JTD Transportation.  The female driver went inside the restaurant, leaving the GMC sport utility vehicle running with four children, ages 3 through 6 years of age, inside the vehicle.

An unknown Hispanic male with curly hair, glasses and wearing a blue shirt was seen getting into the SUV and driving off.  Witnesses stated the male might be homeless.

The stolen vehicle is described as a silver, 2009 GMC Acadia with Texas license plates DCN8277.

Investigators are at the scene of the incident.  No other information is available at this time.
